About Us
Peekye Hill Social Organisation (PHISO) was founded in 1998 by Kami Sherpa, borne in the village of Goli Gumba and living in Kathmandu. He first started with sponsoring personally two teachers to transfer the precious knowledge of the elder lamas (Monks) to the young boys and girls of the village of Goli.
The program proved very fruitful and successfully created several young monks and nuns. This success was very enthusiastic though not enough.
Charter Peekye Hill Social Organization (PHISO) was founded to improve the condition of people of Hilly Regions in education and economy. Nepal being a mountainous country, its 44% of the people live in the hills, scattering widely, clustered into small hamlets. And most of them (communities/areas) suffer from the food deficits, illiteracy and lack of school facilities. To fight with the above problem, PHISO launches the following activities in different parts of Nepal.

Read moreOn the 27 June 2015, the Peekye Tourism Development Committee, formed under the Peekye Hill Social Organization (PHISO), presented a proposal to Nepal Tourism Board. The aim of the proposal is to Develop the entire Peekye Hill Region as one of the New Tourism Region in lower Everest Region.

The Peekye Hill Social Organization (PHISO) helped to build a primary school at Golla village of Solukhumbu district. In this village, the primary school is in a distance of at least 40 minutes to two hours, each way, and high school in a distance of minimum 3 hours walk one way.

This organization also emphasizes to conserve language and cultural values. Recently it has published a Sherpa language Dictionary named "Shewi Chhik Dzo", Sherpa song called "Dhakpi Sherwi Lu" and also a "Dhakpi Sherwi Tamnye",
